Those who don the mantle of leadership are humbled by its weight, and Cascadia is no exception. The conflict forged him into a symbol for those he led, someone they could look to for a defiant smile in the toughest of times. He carries himself with all the gravitas of a Captain, yet with a levity sorely lacking among those like him. But beneath that charismatic exterior exists a weary man with a good heart. He’s relentlessly compassionate, painfully straightforward, and unerringly loyal to those he’s fond of.

| PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION |

Cascadia is a rather tall fellow possessed of a rangy athletic build, a tapestry of scars from head to toe. Dark wavy hair falls just below his shoulders, streaks of silvery blue throughout, and he boasts piercing eyes of amethyst. While he sometimes wears a traditional Bozjan amulet, a necklace with a frozen scale always hangs from his neck. His characteristic eye bags have since faded with time and rest. Rare is the day where the bastard can’t crack a cheeky grin.

Generally, I enjoy somewhat natural-encounters between characters in game. That said, I’m happy to spend some time planning something out in advance. Below are few generic lead-ins for how one might have heard of Cascadia.

The Longness of Semper
There was once a time where the shadow of Garlemald lingered long over Cascadia's head, a once-insurmountable war for the very heart of Bozja. The man who fought in that war would spend countless years trying to redefine himself in its wake, stumbling along in the pursuit of "normal." When the dust finally settled, Cascadia would find his answer along the path of the freelancer. He would lend his skill and steel to causes he felt worthwhile, provided that there was coin. At least, that's what he'd tell himself. But for someone who's seen the height of compassion and the depths of depravity, charting a new course guided by his own compass seemed mighty appealing.

Bozjan Resistance Captain
Anyone familiar with the resistance groups of Bozja or Dalmasca might have heard of the infamous “Heartbreaker Squadron.” Named after the largely exaggerated battlefield antics of their Captain, they were a force to be reckoned with on Bozja’s northern plateau. Cascadia served as the face of this unit during the conflict with the IVth, and more than a few bards sung of his deeds on the frontlines. Cascadia isn’t particularly fond of his callsign, but wears it proudly as a sign of respect for those he fought alongside. He’s a decorated veteran with a reputation that often precedes him, but you’ll never find him bragging about it or his rank. Beyond the conflict, Cascadia has been known to spearhead supply talks with nations ravaged by the IVth legion.

Taste the Rainbow
Those with any particular sensitivity to aether, or possess aethersight, might notice Cascadia stands out like a sore thumb. At a glance, his aether appears to be a veritable tempest of colors that obscure what might otherwise be a clear-cut portrait of his soul. He doesn’t carry himself like someone his age normally would, wiser in most respects, despite being relatively young by viera standards. What is the origin of this disturbance? Shouldn’t he be more concerned about the outward volatility of his anima? And, most importantly, why does this viera smell vaguely of Skittles?
